Services
ANCHR will provide some publication assistance for accepted written historical accounts in the form of an essay, monograph, or booklet, and for photo essays and transcribed oral history audio or video recordings of some aspect of Northern California local history. This service is available to anyone interested in the history of Northern California including the counties of Butte, Colusa, Glenn, Lassen, Modoc, Plumas, Shasta, Siskiyou, Sutter, Tehama, Trinity and Yuba. We especially encourage high school, college and university teachers and students to use this service to publish local history projects, papers, and theses of exceptional merit and deemed worthy of wider public access and availability.

Proposals for ANCHR publication assistance should be made to ANCHR via the submission form listed below. The board will refer such proposals to the publications committee for determination if the paper or project meets our criteria for publication assistance. The publication committee will also work with the author by providing editorial, proofing, and, if able, indexing services to improve the submission as needed. The publication committee will make a recommendation to the ANCHR board, which will make the final determination to fund the project.

Once a submission has been accepted, the ANCHR publications committee will work with the author or editor to prepare and publish an appropriate quantity of the proposed publication. ANCHR will pay the publication costs, although cost-sharing arrangement with individuals or other historical societies or groups will be considered. The resulting publication will be made available for sale through ANCHR and made available for wholesale purchase to other bookstores, museums, and historical societies. It will be assigned an ISBN number, and, therefore, made available through Books In Print for purchase world-wide.
