After 118 years, the narrative content of Wells & Chambers’ History of Butte County has finally been indexed.
 
Lists of elected and appointed officials in the book have been alphabetized separately in an addendum at the end of this narrative index. Also included is a separate index of references from Faris & Smith’s History of Plumas County, when that county was still part of Butte County. As a bonus, we have included the biographies of Butte County residents appearing in A Memorial & Biographical History of Northern California, published by Lewis Co., Chicago, 1891.
